On 29 August 2024, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), in collaboration with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Committee co-hosted the ASEAN-China (Ningxia) Economic and Trade Conference. The ACC invited diplomats based in Beijing from ASEAN Member States (AMS) to attend the Conference. President Liang Wanrong of CCPIT Ningxia Committee, Director Guo Chuanwei of Trade and Investment Division of the ACC, and Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) and Minister Varapote Chensavasdijai of the Embassy of Thailand in China attended and addressed the Conference. Over 200 representatives from AMS and China business associations and enterprises engaged themselves in discussions for future cooperation.
The Conference, themed “Crossing Mountains and Seas for Win-win Cooperation”, also witnessed an exhibition of Ningxia featured products, business matchmaking sessions, and release of RCEP implementation reports in Ningxia. There were 27 cooperation documents in all with a total value of more than RMB 2 billion signed at the Conference. As a result, the Conference’s role was further enhanced as a facilitating bridge for practical cooperation between Ningxia and ASEAN countries.
On the sidelines of the Conference, the ACC also led the AMS diplomatic delegation on filed visits to local enterprises of green agriculture and innovative technology in Yinchuan, which helped the AMS diplomats acquire a better understanding of Ningxia’s industrial edges and business environment.
