On 27 December 2024, Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Center (ACC) had a meeting with Ambassador U Tin Maung Swe of Myanmar to China. Both sides took stock of the achievements in 2024 thanks to the common efforts by the ACC and the Myanmar Embassy in promoting pragmatic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between ASEAN and China, as well as between Myanmar and China. Both sides also agreed on pressing ahead with the related cooperation in the upcoming 2025, highlighting such areas as modern agriculture, tourism safety and Chinese language training, under the framework of 2025 ASEAN-China Year of People-to-people Exchanges and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and China, so as to better serve the future growth of ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and building of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future.
